Wednesday, June 23, Day 48
Guffey to Fairplay, Colorado (48 miles)

We awoke in the bunkhouse feeling refreshed. I personally felt 100 percent better today than I did yesterday. The reaction I’m having to the altitude change is a thing of the past, I’m hoping. We are heading North toward Hartsel, Colorado.
The day started out great with temps in the high 40’s. By 10am, however, it was up to 75 but with relatively no humidity.
We had our first breakfast in Guffey and were looking forward to our second breakfast at our stopover at Dorothy's Homemade Tamales Dorothy’s is revered as the best place in Colorado for tamales. No Kidding!!!
During the course of our wonderful meal, six different people walked in for take out. One of her customers bought six dozen. It’s great to be king
