Thursday, May 13, Day 7
Camp Bethel, VA to the Mike & Jean Abraham House, Blacksburg, Virginia (50 miles)

As we departed Camp Bethel, a slight rain was falling. The countryside is magnificent with rolling hills and fields. If the sun had been shining, it would have created an aura of multi colored vegetation. Despite the gloomy day, our spirits were soaring. The end of the day’s ride would be one of the highlights of our travels.
Our destination today is Blacksburg, the home of Virginia Tech. The highlight is staying at the home of Mike and Jane Abraham.

Mike is an author and his first book, entitled Union, WV was published the day we arrived at his home. It’s a story about a young man who learns about the genesis of his family history from an uncle he hadn’t seen in thirty years.
Mike also has a great collection of Honda Motorcycles. We had a great conversation with these interesting people over a wonderful meal of Chinese takeout.
We then hit the sack anticipating the next day’s ride.
