May 8th day 2 Glendale to Mineral, Virginia 84 miles

The day started at Willis Church. We rode out at 7:30 AM on our way to Mineral,Va. The day was sunny and warm about 85-88 degrees. We passed through history of the Civil War
Malvern Hill, Cold Harbor, Seven Pines it was amazing to see that which I had only read about. The day was moving along nice and then the wind pick up Up UP. By early afternoon we had head and side winds of 20-25 MPH. By mid afternoon we had gust of wind up to 35 MPH. Not a very happy group. However the story gets better. The fire house in Mineral we were to stay at shut us out. It seems that they were having a carnival the night we were to use the grounds and showers. Amy Newman to the rescue she found a camp ground 7 miles outside of town for us to stay at.At that point we were dead tired the winds had beat us up good. Then Amy went back into town and pick up dinner for all.We set up tents then off to bed I was one tired puppy...Till next time Bike Ted
