May 10th.Day Off Charlottesville, Virginia 0 miles

We all started off the day with breakfast in the Charlottesville's Hampton Inn.We then traveled just outside of town to Jefferson's house at the 3,000 acre Monticello to visit the house and grounds.Every American should see what one of the founding Father's did during his life. His legacy to our country is truly amazing. His concept of living space and clever device's used within the house are many years ahead of it's time.My only down side about him in my opinion was that he was a slave owner. At any given time he would have as many as 200 slaves at Monticello. It is written that he believed that slavery should be ended , however he did nothing for it to move in that direction. We returned to town had lunch , then off to the local bike shop for goodies. One of our group Steve Kurek had an issue with his bike. sadly the part needed to repair his bike is 60 miles away. Being late in the day the part will not be to him till around noon tomorrow. He will be getting a late start ,after the bike's repaired
hopefully he be able to join us by night fall....Till next time Bike Ted
