May 7th. First Day 64 miles Yorktown-Willis Church

Said good bye to my love at 8:30 AM after a confusing breakfast at the Duke of York Hotel in Yorktown, Virginia. The waitress redid our bill at lest 6 times before coming close to the correct amount. Our first ride day was in the mid 80's temp. wise full sun
light winds, just a great day for a ride.Part of the ride was on the Capital bike path which ran along side of SR 5 it was in a nice area all our riders enjoyed it. Amy Newman, Jerry Newman's wife was the sag support . She did a great job of making sure we had food and water available on the whole ride. Our riders are Phyllis Counts,Terri Vivion, Steve Kurek, Jerry Newman( The ride leader), And myself. All of the people are getting along great. Our ride went from Yorktown to a church call Willis Church, which was opened up to us to used the bathrooms and kitchen. we pitched our tents behind the church next to their cemetery.Till Next time Ted
